Our Meditation Practice Schedule Monday Nights, 7 - 8:30 Our main meditation night
Meeting every Monday. We start with a five minute metta (loving kindness) meditation, followed by sitting and walking practice. We complete the session with a group chant, dharma talk and q&a, usually led by one of our two dharma teachers, Lisa Ernst and Tom Neilson or advanced practitioner Kurt Brobeck. This is an opportunity to learn more about the teachings and practical application of practice in everyday life. People of all levels of experience are welcome, from beginners to experienced meditators. For your first time meditating with us, please be sure to arrive 15 minutes early for orientation. For more information, email onedharmainfo@gmail.com. First and Third Thursday of Each Month, 7 - 8:30 p.m. Awakening True Nature
Emphasis is on innovative approaches to learning the dharma and includes teachings on emptiness, direct realization and the integration of Buddhist and Western psychology. We also explore the intersection of Mayahana, Theravada and Vajrayana Buddhism. We start with 50 minutes of sitting and walking practice, followed by 30 to 40 minutes of teaching and group discussion. Usually led by dharma teachers Lisa Ernst or Tom Neilson. This group is appropriate for people with all levels of experience, although an existing meditation practice will help you to get the most out of the discussion. For your first time meditating with us, please arrive 15 minutes early for orientation. Everyone is welcome to attend. For more information, email onedharmainfo@gmail.com.
2nd and 4th Saturdays of Each Month, 10:30 - 11:45 a.m. The Basics of Mindfulness Meditation - Starting February 11, 2012
This twice monthly meeting offers an introduction to creating and incorporating an effective and ongoing mindfulness meditation practice. You will learn the basics of insight meditation, and will discover how meditation reduces stress and increases well being, while also creating a healthier relationship with thoughts and emotions. Appropriate to beginning and newer meditators as well as those who wish to refresh the basics of mindfulness practice. Although optional, we recommend a classic guide to mindfulness meditation, “Breath by Breath” by Larry Rosenberg. We will have several new and used copies available for purchase at the center.
Support for our Meetings
There is no charge to attend any of our meetings, but donations are appreciated. One Dharma relies on the generosity of those who practice with us to cover the cost of rent and related expenses.
