A Day of Mindfulness Retreat

Cultivating Clarity though Living Our Questions

Saturday, January 28, 10 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., sponsored by One Dharma Nashville

“Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves. Do not now seek the answers, which cannot be given you because you would not be able to live them. And the point is to live everything. Live the questions.” - Rainer Maria Rilke

Please join us for a day of mindfulness retreat at the 12 South Dharma Center.  During the winter months it is customary to look inward and clarify our deepest intentions, yet unanswered questions may stand in the way. During this day of mindfulness, we will have the opportunity to practice opening our hearts to our unresolved questions. These questions contain a rich source of insight; learning to live them brings about a radical shift that opens the door to clarity and equanimity.

This retreat is appropriate for newer and more experienced meditators who wish to deepen their practice. Led by meditation teacher Lisa Ernst, the retreat it will include sitting and walking meditation, practice instructions, and a dharma talk. Please bring a sack lunch. Cushions and chairs are available at the center.

Cost: $35, plus dana (donation) to the teacher. Reduced fees are available in the case of financial need. Reservation deadline is Friday, January 20. Contact onedharmaretreat@gmail.com for questions. Please mail a deposit of $35, made out to One Dharma Nashville, to: 12South Dharma Center c/o One Dharma Nashville, 2301 12th Ave. South, Suite 202, Nashville, TN 37204. Alternatively, you can bring your deposit to one of Monday sits. Please include your email address with your deposit. Additional information will be emailed prior to the retreat

Realization Process Intermediate Meditation Training:

Subtler and Deeper

A holistic approach to personal healing

and spiritual realization

12 South Dharma Center

Presented by

Tom Neilson, Psy.D.

January-June 2012

The Guest is inside you, and also inside me;

you know the sprout is hidden inside the seed.

--Kabir

Realization Process is a transpersonal, mind-body approach to meditation that facilitates personal healing and spiritual growth.  It consists of innovative meditative practices for realizing the radical openness of our True Nature.   These exercises attune directly to the subtle "wisdom core" that runs through the body, and to the unified space of fundamental consciousness that permeates everything.  The exercises cultivate subtle awareness, creative self-expression, compassion, inner strength, grounding, complete physical embodiment, and nondual realization.  They help to uncover an authentic and more complete experience of ourselves as individuals at the same time that they help us transcend our individuality.  Realization Process practices can also be used to facilitate deep contact, resonance and intimacy between two people.

This training consists of a series of six workshops designed to take the individual deeper into the practice of Realization Process meditation.  Participants can either sign up for the first introductory workshop only or for the entire series, which will take participants to the intermediate level of Realization Process meditation practice.  This training is appropriate for both beginning meditators and advanced practitioners.  We will meet the third Saturday of each month from 1:00-4:30 pm (the specific dates are 1/21, 2/18, 3/17, 4/21, 5/19, and 6/16/2012).  The fee is $50 for those who attend the introductory meeting only and $250 for those planning to attend the entire training (those signing up for the entire training will be paying for only 5 meetings, because of the likelihood that some will have to miss one meeting due to other commitments).  Space is limited to 16 people.  Two sliding scale slots are available for those in financial need.  To register or make inquiries call Tom at 297-8650.  The 12 South Dharma Center is located at the corner of 12th and Linden, at 2301 12th Avenue South.  The entrance is on the second floor, up the exterior stairs at the rear of the building.

Tom Neilson has been a meditation practitioner for over 20 years.  He has worked for many years with Buddhist teacher Jeff Collins, and has recently begun teaching himself. He has studied Realization Process with Judith Blackstone, and is a certified Realization Process Meditation Teacher.  He is also a clinical psychologist with expertise in mindfulness.
